Laurie Kessler, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, has extensive experience in entertainment, talent relations and representation, celebrity bookings, events, media, marketing, promotions, publicity, video production and branding campaigns. She has worked with literally thousands of celebrities and luminaries, brands, non-profits, and media conglomerates – and she is highly adept at determining client needs and priorities, and delivering strategic solutions and results.
Laurie has worked in media and entertainment throughout her career, and became an expert in promoting both products and people. After graduating from Syracuse University’s prestigious Newhouse School of Public Communications she moved to NYC to “make it” in the television and film industry.
She proceeded to master multiple facets of showbiz working as a talent agent (for legendary talent agency, Don Buchwald & Associates), as a publicist (Andrew Freedman Public Relations) and TV producer (for networks such as A&E, Disney, WE, ComedyNet, and others) – working on projects with A-List talent such as Tom Brokaw, Brooke Shields, Howard Stern, George Takei, Barbara Walters, Laura Linney, Alex Rodriguez, Jerry Seinfeld, Taye Diggs, Mark Ruffalo, and more.
Laurie then took her skills to the world of media and promotions at the experiential marketing company, Gloss Media – where she played a top leadership role and helped manage, strategize, and direct the business. She designed and executed hundreds of out-of-the-box, strategic campaigns for a long list of esteemed brands including NBC/Universal, Kraft, P&G, Coca-Cola, Coty, Ford, L’Oreal, Disney, Walmart, Sony, HBO, Nestle, J&J, CVS, Verizon, Old Navy, Heineken, Burger King, Weight Watchers, and many others.
Laurie missed the world of celebrity and entertainment, so joined international powerhouse United Talent Agency in their speaker division (Greater Talent Network) booking actors, entertainers, sports stars, politicians, broadcast journalists, and expert speakers for events and conferences – and was thrilled to then become a part of The Celebrity Source, where she gets to be a “celebrity matchmaker” between stars and the brands and organizations looking for them.
Laurie is also an active volunteer in her community and beyond – working as a mentor, reading to the blind, teaching literacy; and for nearly ten years has been a volunteer career coach for the United Way assisting un- and under-employed people in how to best look for work and create new opportunities for themselves.
Laurie lives just outside of New York City in New Jersey. In what little spare time she has – she enjoys being the “social director” for her family and two kids, traveling, reading, and exploring the nooks and crannies life has to offer.
